Promoting national volunteering
VSO Bahaginan supports the promotion of national volunteering through regional national volunteering (NV) support and the KaBAHAGI Program.
Regional NV support
VSO Bahaginan, as a member of the VSO Federation, supports VSO program offices in South-East Asia and the Pacific to enable them to promote national volunteering as a strategy to achieve their country strategic and program plans. Through this support VSO program offices enable their partners to develop volunteer programs to strengthen their organizational sustainability.
VSO Bahaginan provides support to program offices through a range of activities including:
training and workshops, such as a certificated course on volunteer program development and management
exchanges and study tours, promoting learning between partners in different countries
research and planning in the context of volunteering in countries
publicity and promotion, including the development of resources
grants to partners for research and program development work
the placement of international VSO volunteers.
We also work in partnership with local and international organizations to support the development of legal frameworks, and raise awareness of the role volunteering can play and its status in communities.
KaBAHAGI program
KaBAHAGI is the national volunteering program of VSO Bahaginan in the Philippines. It aims to increase the opportunities for people to participate in addressing needs and solving problems that concern their community through volunteering.
