Bahaginan Updates Mongolian Barbecue Jay Taruc’s I-Witness Documentary
One of the first things Jay Taruc does when he arrives in Mongolia is sample their world-famous barbecue … only to discover that authentic Mongolian Barbecue is actually a soup! This is just the beginning of a colorful trip that brings with it a series of surprises. Jay and his team gear up for a harsh winter – but are met instead with a rare heat wave! They travel through the scorching heat on a camel, learn to warble with a Mongolian throat singer, and catch a gorgeous desert sunset at 10 in the evening. Aside from barbecue, Mongolia is well known for its beloved leader Genghis Khan --who led the Mongolians in their glory days. But centuries after Khan, and years after strict Communist control, the country is in dire need of leaders who can help them rebuild their once powerful empire. On his journey, Jay discovers that a number of Filipino volunteers are helping Mongolia move forward. There is Glenn, who is working closely with the Mongolian health department to improve hospital services, Alain, who instructs English teachers and Erick, a businessman who is sharing his knowledge about entrepreneurship to help set up small scale businesses in the Mongolian countryside. Experience unexpectedly hot adventure and learn more about both Pinoys and Mongolians in Jay Taruc’s "Mongolian Barbecue" documentary, airing Monday late night over GMA-7’s I-Witness. |
