Volunteer Stories

Juanito Flores left his 30-year-long government job to become a volunteer forester in Vietnam. Instead of losing, he found himself gaining more, from the journey. Read his story.

Nine Filipino youths decided to give 6 months of their life to help communities in Davao, Philippines and Bradford, England. Here’s what Filipino GXP returned volunteers say about their experience. Read their stories: Chloe Salisbury & Majella Pua.

Donate

Filipino volunteers share their skills in developing countries, working in places unknown to them to bring about lasting change. They need your help in preparing for their placements overseas. Or you can choose to support our national volunteering efforts where we help to strengthen various local organizations. Make a donation now.

EVERY DAY IS A CHANCE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. WILL THIS BE YOUR DAY?

VSO volunteers come from all walks of life, who make the decision to share two years of their lives to use whatever skills they’ve got to help communities in some of the poorest countries in the world. In return, they gain an extraordinary experience only few can boast of, a world of new perspectives, and valuable learnings about themselves, about life and about the global community of which we are a part.

VSO urgently needs volunteers mostly for placements in Africa.
