BOHOL, Philippines – In September 2010, an agreement to support the development of Carood Watershed Model Forest was signed. The partnership agreement aims to support the capacity building on eco-tourism development, watershed management and community engagement.
Signatories include VSO Bahaginan, Province of Bohol, Department of Natural Resource Environment, International Model Forest Network and six local government units.
‘Carood’ –a 12-minute video documentary produced by VSO Bahaginan—showcases the importance of supporting the watershed in Bohol. The film underscores the ridge-to-reef approach in managing watershed and coastal resources. It provides us a glimpse on the interplay of human systems and eco-systems and the urgent need to manage both.
With this film, VSO Bahaginan hopes to encourage more Filipinos and other global citizens to raise awareness and increase resources to support various community projects in the Carood Watershed.
